Malea is often recognized as the singer with only a first name but what truly distinguishes her is how she delivers each of her songs with a soulful quality and a vulnerability that moves her listeners regardless of their age or genre preference.
Malea shows her versatility with a wide range of styles from Jazz, Swing, Pop and Blues selections. She takes her audience on a journey that covers songs by Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Duke Ellington & Harold Arlen. On the next note Malea pulls out sultry selections by Sade, Bonnie Raitt & Anita Baker.
Her audience says her performances offer an amazing blend of selections by Adele, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Michael Buble’, Lady Antebellum & Christina Aguilera, Burt Bacharach as well as a 1945 World War II song by Sammy Cahn that always fills the dance floor.
Influenced by her mother, who was a singer and dancer, Malea began singing at an early age and realized early on that performing for a live audience was where she felt most at home. According to her website
Malea performs regularly as a solo artist as well as with her band “Malea & The Tourists” with Kit Taylor on keys & vocals along with some of the Northwest’s most dynamic musicians.
