A new apartment building with retail space has been proposed in Southwest Portland. The location of the building will be 0601 SW Abernathy Street in the Southwest Waterfront. The Pre-Application Conference is to be held December 6, 2012, from 8:30 to 10:00 am at 1900 SW 4th Ave., 4th Floor, Room 4a.
The building proposal was submitted to a Pre-Application Conference for a Type III Design Review. The proposal asked for a new “mixed-use building” according to the Bureau of Development Services.
A Pre-Application Conference is held between the Bureau of Development Services and the person interested in doing a development project in the City of Portland. The City Bureaus send their representatives to this meeting to give information about what each bureau will require. The conference provides information to the applicant to help them prepare a complete project proposal. Interested parties are allowed to attend.
The application calls for a six-story development with 202 housing units and 1,100 square feet of retail located on the ground floor. Parking for 202 vehicles will be provided in two below-grade levels to be accessed from SW Abernathy St.
The application was sent in by Wade Johns of Alamo Manhattan Properties. Douglas Hardy is the conference coordinator. The building will include a fitness section as well as retail.
The outside will be lined with trees, according to the plans. If you’re new to the area or looking for new place to live or host your retail business, look no further than the upcoming new apartment building with retail space on the South Waterfront’s SW Abernathy in Portland.
